SIGALIT ASHWAL, LMHC, M.S., (22360)

Sigi Ashwal holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (22360). She is also an active member of the American Counseling Association and has had intensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) via the Beck Institute, the leading and original international source for CBT.

Ms. Ashwal treats children, adolescents, and adults, and has been been working with children of all ages (and their families) for more than twenty-five years. She has vast experience in child development and behavior management and utilizes play therapy techniques to treat children who have suffered trauma. Ms. Ashwal has also worked with at-risk and delinquent youth referred by the Department of Justice.

As a practitioner who utilizes CBT, Ms. Ashwal seeks to develop strong therapeutic relationships with her clients and work with them toward their therapeutic goals. Her “whole-istic” counseling considers every element of a person’s background (including nationality, religion, race, gender, and generational and socioeconomic factors): variables that make each person unique. Her focus areas of treatment include depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and behavior management.

Humor, warmth, compassion, genuine curiosity, and a desire to help others are hallmarks of Ms. Ashwal’s character and practice.
