KAREN BARAK, M.S., RMFTI (IMT4244)

I am an Attachment Therapist and Trauma Specialist with a focus on generational, relational, and
epigenetic dynamics. My approach weaves together a rich tapestry of modalities, including
Somatic practices, Bowen Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Structural Therapy, Inner Child work,
Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused models, Adult Children of Dysfunctional
Families, and Coactive Coaching.

With these frameworks, I support individuals in identifying attachment patterns, emotional
wounds, behavioral cycles, and internal dialogues that may no longer serve them. My goal is to
bring conscious awareness to the inner world, creating space for sustainable, meaningful
change—always honoring the uniqueness of each client’s life journey.

As the child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors, I bring a deeply personal understanding of
trauma, trauma transmission, family dysfunction, and intergenerational pain. My lived
experience informs every session, allowing me to work compassionately with the invisible
wounds that often manifest as anxiety, depression, relational conflict, communication challenges,
low self-worth, and addictive patterns. Together, we work to address the roots beneath the
symptoms.

I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I strive to create a space grounded in
emotional safety, compassion, and curiosity—where deep healing becomes possible. I’m
especially passionate about helping clients regulate their nervous systems, develop secure
internal attachments, and cultivate self-compassion.

My trauma-informed approach is further enriched by studies in Rapid Resolution Therapy, the
NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), and EFT Tapping. Over the years, I’ve also
developed my own signature method of guided inner work, drawn from both clinical training and
personal integration.

My background includes several years in addiction treatment, where I helped clients reclaim
their lives from dependency. In couples work, I draw from Gottman Method assessments,
Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Imago principles to support healthier communication and
relational clarity.

As a classically trained musician and visual artist, I infuse creativity into the therapeutic process.
I’m especially inspired by collaborative lyric writing and expressive arts therapy—two
modalities I’ve shaped into original frameworks: Cultivate and Create™ and Reflections Art™.
Above all, I walk alongside clients with authenticity, warmth, and respect. I am also a proud
mother—an experience that continues to deepen my empathy, humility, and reverence for the
human experience.
